The letter you send with your CV is your opportunity to grab our attention and get us interested in reading more about you. Here are some things you should consider when writing an effective letter:
The focus of the letter should be on what you can bring to our organisation. This is your chance to tell us what specific skills/experience/interest you have that could be useful us.
Show us employer what value you can add to our business.
Don’t just copy generic paragraphs from another covering letter as we will spot this. Please tailor it to the role you are applying for as much as possible.
Remember to begin by telling them why you are writing to them – and include the specific role(s) you are applying for.
Explain what interests you about the role and Pricecheck, show us you have done your research.
Point out your key skills, experience and/or qualifications that are relevant to that particular job.
Expand on the points that you have highlighted in your CV.
Keep to the point, don’t waffle, try to stick to one A4 side.
End the letter in a positive way.
