Choosing a Career Path

Back to Blogs

Are you a recent graduate looking for your first corporate role? Or maybe you’re at a place in your career where you want to try something new. Either way, not knowing which path to take next can be difficult.

To help you get started, ask yourself these five important questions:

  1. What am I good at? List your transferable skills that might be useful in another role. Maybe you were great at presenting at university or you’re someone who’s known to be organised.

  2. What are my interests and values? After all, a job should be enjoyable! Look for a company that shares a culture you’d be happy to be a part of.

  3. What kind of lifestyle do I want? How much do you value a work/life balance? Maybe a hybrid role would be the best option for you.

  4. What do I want from my career? Are you someone who wants to climb the corporate ladder, or do you have different goals in life?

  5. What is important to me? From personal growth to job benefits and a friendly team, decide what you want from the world of work.

And if you still aren’t sure, don't be afraid to take the leap! Starting in the deep end can be one of the fastest ways to develop and grow.
